Apparently the Church of Scientology may be practicing medical treatment
(without a license) with their upper level New Era Dianetics for Operating 
Thetan materials. I'm not aware of in what states in the US that the
CoS sells these services although California (Los Angeles) and Florida 
(Clearwater) would be a good guess. If anyone knows where the CoS sells
the NED for OTs services, please post a follow-up message.


In Scientology's "HCO BULLETIN OF 14 NOVEMBER 1978, NED for OTs Series 34"
titled _THE SEQUENCE FOR HANDLING A PHYSICAL CONDITION_ one cures 
an illness by auditing (using a lie detector type of device called
an e-meter and answering questions) out his Body Thetans (little 
evil spirits which infest the body and must be excorcised out) and
clusters (a bunch of Body Thetans stuck together).

The following is the sequence in which the auditing must be done
in order to cure the illness (physical condition) according to
NED for OTs Series 34, _THE SEQUENCE FOR HANDLING A PHYSICAL CONDITION_,
which was recently posted to alt.religion.scientology:

 1) The item
 2) The body part 
 3) Illness (of the body part)
 4) Cures for illness
 5) Protest of cures for the illness
 6) The body part (again)
 7) The item (again)
 8) The period of illness on it (Cluster-making incident)

Because the process does not seem to represent "spiritual healing", but
is obviously representing a process of "physical healing", does anyone 
know about the legality of the Church of Scientology selling such services?
