A major point of Scientology dissemination is that they will not, unlike
psychiatry, evaluate for you. "What is true for you, is true for you," you
will be told by the smiling Scientologist.
That is why "auditing" works, they say, as compared to psychiatry. You
are told the auditor will never evaluate for you. You are also told that
NO one will evaluate your case, that this is what psychiatry/psychology
does, and that is a major point of difference between the two: that the
psych will tell you what is wrong with you and Scientology does not.
So let's see how that works.
Many people start with a "personality test," where they tell you what your
problems are and how Scientology can help you. But don't worry. They won't
evaluate for you. Only the psychs do that.
They will tell you that your problems stem from "engrams" in your
"reactive mind." And they don't evaluate. Only the psychs do that.
When you do your Dianetic auditing and if you do not progress into past
lives, you are put onto a "past lives repair" to get you to "remember."
And you will continue to be told no one will evaluate you, that only the
psychs do that.
When you have an upset, you are told it is because you have a "missed
withhold" (a crime you are hiding) and the only way to feel better is to
tell them what your crimes are. But meanwhile, no one will evaluate for
you as only the psychs do that.
When you study and can't understand some of LRH's ramblings, it is because
you have a "misunderstood word." (Aren't you glad they don't evaluate for
you?)
When you get sick, you are told it is because you are "PTS" and "connected
to a suppressive person." But no one will evaluate for you. Only the
psychs do that.
And so it continues and the preclear buys it. That is how one becomes
eligible for the grandaddy of the evaluations: OT III. LRH's excuse is
that you can't remember this, because it was such a horrible event, so he
will tell you. And so you sit down and read what happened to YOU 75
million years ago when the Great Overlord Xenu... If you don't agree,
then you must have a misunderstood. Or maybe some missed withholds.
So remember: Scientology will never evaluate for you. Only the psychs do
that.
And if you believe that, you'll make a great Scientologist.
