[BLACKED OUT] that the Academy of Scientology, operated by L.
Ron Hubbard, offers several courses of instruction. About three
hundred people attended a convention held by this Academy in July.
At the convention Hubbard made several speeches and made "cracks
about our Government, enough to plant discontent in the minds of
the people." [BLACKED OUT] furnished this information to Bureau in
confidence in view of the possibility this outfit may be engaged in
subversive activities.
There are many Bureau file references to Hubbard and Academy of
Scientology. Search slips are attached.
