Dear Sir:
We have recently come in contact with a person who states that he is a
member of a religion called Scientology. This individual claims that the
correct title of the organization is the Church of Scientology with
headquarters in Saint Hill Manor, East Grinstead, Sussex, England, Great
Britain. I understand this church is a world wide organization and that
there are several centers in this country (i. e. Seattle, Los Angeles, San
Francisco, Minneapolis, New York City, Washington, D.C., etc.).
We have received information of a limited nature from their Seattle,
Washington center of the Church of Scientology of California. However
their information appears to be ambiguous. Of course the information
received is largely promotional.
Inasmuch as the information received appears to be ambiguous, please send
any information you may have concerning this religion (providing the
information is not privileged, classified or against the best interests of
the United States) - if possible. Thank you.
