In the Matter of In Bankruptcy
THE HUBBARD DIANETIC FOUNDATION, INC. ) Ancillary Proceedings
Bankrupt ) No. 23747
AFFIDAVIT IN SUPPORT OF TRUSTEE'S
APPLICATION UNDER SECTION 10 OF
THE BANKRUPTCY ACT
________________________________
BERTRAM K. WOL[?-either P or F]E being duly sworn according to law deposes
and says that the following affidavit is made and filed in support of the
Trustee's Application for the arrest of E. [sic] Ron Hubbard pursuant to
the provisions of Section 10 of the National Bankruptcy Act and that the
following facts are averred by deponent from information received by him
by letter from McDonald, Tinker and Skaer, Wichita, Kansas, Counsel for
the Trustee in the above entitled matter and deponent's correspondent.
L. Ron Hubbard was the founder and in complete control of the bankrupt
corporation which operated in Wichita, Kansas during 1951 and part of
1952. L. Ron Hubbard is the former pulp magazine writer who wrote a book
on "dianetics" and which was published by a reputable book publisher and
became a best seller. Since then he has travelled throughout the country
and in London and Egypt preaching the theory of "dianetics", which appears
to be mainly a method of practicing psychiatry without having the required
medical training. He came to Wichita, Kansas from Elizabeth, N.J., where
he had been the dominant control of the

Hubbard Dianetic Research Foundation, Inc., a New Jersey corporation. He
moved to Wichita and set up the bankrupt corporation when the New Jersey
corporation became financially unable to pay its debts. After the Kansas
corporation went into bankruptcy Hubbard opened what he called "Hubbard
College" in another part of Wichita, Kansas and when creditors began
claiming against this establishment he moved to Phoenix, Arizona and set
up another organization there. It now appears that he is following the
same procedure in Philadelphia.
Throughout his dianetic career Hubbard has displayed a fine talent for
profiting personally although his firms and institutions generally fail.
As indicated by his previous migratory nature there is every reason to
believe that he will leave Philadelphia as soon as he has accomplished his
ends, all of which is in utter contempt of the orders of the United States
District Court for the District of Kansas.
