Re Albany letter to Director dated 4/13/62.
[BLACKED OUT] Investigator for the New York State [BLACKED OUT]
Albany, New York, telephonically contacted SA [BLACKED OUT] on
4/19/62, and advised that he, [BLACKED OUT] had no case at all
against [BLACKED OUT] He said he had no proof [BLACKED OUT] was
practicing medicine and that [BLACKED OUT] could be a counselor
without violating the law.. He further said that any interview that
the FBI might desire to conduct with [BLACKED OUT] would not harm
the interests of the [BLACKED OUT]
[BLACKED OUT] was interviewed on 5/2/62, by SA [BLACKED OUT] He
stated that he has been employed as a professional scientologist
for the Hubbard Association of Scientologists International since
1956. He stated that in the course of his employment, he has given
lectures and had classes in dianetics and scientology. He admitted
that in his lectures he had utilized the book "Sanity For the
Layman" written by RAYMOND KEMP. He said he could not recall
whether or not he had, in lectures, stated that FBI Agents are
trained in Washington by scientologists but admitted that the
possibility existed that he may have made such a statement. He was
severely admonished and was advised he was to immediately cease
making any reference or inference concerning alleged connections
between the FBI training procedures and the administration of any
part of such training by scientologists.
