We thought you might not know that [front group] is closely affiliated with the Church of Scientology, a 20th century "religious" group founded by science-fiction writer L. Ron Hubbard.

Since members of the Church of Scientology and its allied organizations such as [front group] faithfully adhere to and promote the teachings of Mr. Hubbard, to the exclusion of all other teachings, theories, or professional methods, we thought you might be interested in some of Mr. Hubbard's lesser-known views.

For your perusal and further research on this matter, we are enclosing:

1. Quotations of interest, in Mr. Hubbard's own words, taken from his books, tape recorded lectures and internal church memoranda.

2. Some brief testimonials from former members of [front group or CoS or both] whose experiences were far from the ideal described by those featured in your article.

3. A list of books, articles and internet sites offering further information and opinion on the activities of the Church of Scientology and its affiliate organization, [front group].

4. A list of other groups allied with, supported by and/or operated by the Church of Scientology.

While through their well-publicized good works some of these groups have gained acceptance in their local areas, we believe their true agenda is promotion of and recruitment for the Church of Scientology.

WHO ARE WE?  [name of group] is an informal, international group of people who are opposed to the Church of Scientology.  Some of us are ex-Scientologists; some have lost relatives or friends to the church.  We support religious freedom; it is the behavior of the leadership and some members of a cult that we are opposing.
